On Tuesday 1st May, P & I welcomed new sales apprentices, Alicja Cyganik and Jade Philocles to the team.
Alicja joins us as graduate apprentice service contract sales administrator under the degree apprenticeship programme. Alicja will be completing the chartered manager degree apprenticeship (CMDA) through the University of Portsmouth over the next three years.
Laura Eaton, Business Development Executive for Degree Apprenticeships at the University of Portsmouth, commented:
“It’s a pleasure for the University of Portsmouth to be partnering with P & I based locally in Havant. We feel the role offered to Alicja compliments our CMDA and we really look forward to welcoming Alicja on the programme commencing in September 2018.”
Jade joins us as apprentice sales administrator, working towards completing the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship with P & I’s apprenticeship partner, PETA. PETA Ltd is a Hampshire-based training organisation set up in 1970 and has over 330-member companies including Portsmouth Water, Stannah Stairlifts, Wightlink, Portsmouth International Port, Kenwood, Airbus, Boeing and many others.
Dean Curry, Trainer Assessor within Business Training at PETA Ltd, commented:
“Yesterday I completed the enrolment of a third PETA/P & I Business Apprentice. It is good to see a company taking such a keen interest in the development of the apprentices and creating such brilliant opportunities across different areas of the business. I look forward to working to help them all achieve their apprenticeships and working with P & I into the future.”
Alongside on the job training, Alicja and Jade will have weekly day release to their respective education facilities as part of their apprenticeships.
Alicja and Jade will fall under the leadership of sales manager, Alex Thomas. However, Alicja’s degree apprenticeship requires her to have a mentor within the business, that isn’t her line manager. Jon Terzza, business development manager, will take on the role of Alicja’s mentor for the duration of her apprenticeship, giving her the support and guidance required to successfully complete the degree apprenticeship.
Operations Director, Alan Blair commented:
“I am pleased to welcome both Alicja and Jade to the P & I team. As a business, we are passionate about investing in the next generation of our workforce and with the hire of Alicja, we have embarked on our very first degree apprenticeship role. We currently have six apprentice engineers and with the addition of Alicja and Jade, we now have four office apprentices. I would like to wish them both every success with their apprenticeships and their future careers within P & I.”
From everyone at P & I, we would like to welcome Alicja and Jade to the team!
