For the month of November, a group of P & I staff are taking part in the challenge of growing a moustache to raise funds for the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation began in 2003, when two friends from Australia created the idea over a quiet beer. Initially, starting as a challenge to bring back the moustache, the foundation has quickly become a leading charity tackling men’s health.
The charity addresses some of the biggest health issues facing men including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Having funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world, the foundation’s aim is to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% by 2030.
Today, our team arrived in the office completely clean shaven and ready to take on the challenge of growing the best moustache at P & I.
The P & I team consists of:
- Alan Houghton – Project Manager
- Ashley Benfield – Service Manager
- Bradley Atkins – Service Engineer
- Nathan Jackett – Service Control Apprentice
- Paul Benfield – Managing Director
P & I’s Marketing Manager, Laura Martin commented:
“Every year, we like to take part in various fundraising activities and this year, we have decided to take part in Movember. It’s a great opportunity for us to have some fun whilst raising funds for such a worthy cause. Our target for Movember is £500 and we are hoping that with the support of our colleagues, friends and family, we can hit our goal. We will be posting updates via our social media channels, so you can find out how our team are doing and what moustache they will be sporting by the end of the month.”
Everyone here is looking forward to seeing what the rest of the month brings and there will be most definitely be plenty of laughs along the way! If you would like to sponsor our team, please visit P & I’s Movember Fundraising Page.
