P & I staff wish office manager a happy retirement

Maggie RetirementOn Friday 27th July, P & I bid a fond farewell to office manager, Maggie Bentley, as she left to enjoy her retirement.

Maggie was the first to join P & I when it was just managing director, Paul Benfield and technical director, Paul Terzza.

Since joining P & I in October 2006, Maggie has been involved in nearly all aspects of the business including sales, marketing, HR, tenders, policies and much more. She has been instrumental in some of the big decisions throughout the years including the implementation of P & I’s CRM system and choosing our IT providers. Maggie has also been responsible for obtaining and maintaining the following accreditations for P & I: ISO 14001, ISO 18001, ISO 9001, CHAS, SafeContractor and Constructionline.

Maggie’s role will now be taken over by business administrator, Nikki Cushion, who over the last couple of months, has been taking part in a comprehensive handover.

Commenting on her retirement, Maggie said:

“I have loved working for Paul and Paul for the last 11 years. I’d like to thank them both for their support over the years and wish them every success for the future.”

Managing Director, Paul Benfield commented:

“Myself, Paul Terzza and everyone at P & I would like to thank Maggie for her hard work and dedicated service over the last 11 years. We will be sad to see Maggie go but we hope she enjoys her well-deserved retirement.”

Just before leaving on Friday, Maggie was presented with a card, a basket of flowers and a spa treatment for two at the Lime Wood Hotel & Spa in the New Forest.

From everyone here at P & I, we would like to wish Maggie all the best in her retirement!

P & I staff member celebrates 10 years’ service

10 Year' Service

Jon Terzza (L) with Managing Director, Paul Benfield (R)

Last month, we celebrated Jon Terzza’s 10 years’ service with P & I. Joined by his colleagues for a presentation, Jon received a bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates, an extra day’s holiday and a cheque for £100 to mark his 10-year milestone with the company.

Jon joined P & I in early 2008 as a sales executive to help progress the company to the next level by procuring larger contracts, and by 2014, he had made his way to sales manager. In May this year, Jon moved into the role of business development manager, where he will be focusing his efforts on bids and tenders.

Jon is also a mentor to our newly appointed degree apprentice, Alicja Cyganik. Over the next three years, he will be responsible for giving Alicja the support and guidance required to successfully complete her degree apprenticeship programme with the University of Portsmouth.

Commenting on his journey within P & I, Jon said:

“I’ve witnessed P & I’s growth from 4 members of office staff, an office dog and a handful of engineers, to the hugely successful company we are today. We now employ over 50 staff which includes 10 apprentices in both engineering and business roles. I’m in a privileged position that I can be a mentor to new staff coming into the business and pass on my knowledge and skills to our future workforce.”

Managing Director of P & I, Paul Benfield, commented:

“We were delighted to celebrate this great achievement with Jon. Myself and technical director, Paul Terzza would like to thank Jon for his service and continued commitment to P & I. He has built our sales team up from the ground, to what it is today. We are looking forward to the next 10 years and what more Jon can bring to P & I.”

Congratulations from everyone at P & I!
